I’ve been honoured with writing our 200th blog but amidst being chuffed; I had to stop to ask myself why this was? I certainly have seen so many articles by resident bloggers that have put mine to shame since we started but being a shameless hussy; I persist in my occasional social outbursts.
My apologies go to all of you that commented on some of my blogs asking me to expand on the story I had started of my childhood journey, but failed to rise to the request. When I look at what comes in by fellow bloggers, I get so caught up with reading it that I forget to finish or post what I intended to! Sad and silly fact but there it is! However this is truly inexcusable a reason to front for my bad manners therefore an apology it is I will stick to giving you.
I will make a point of finishing off where I left off God allowing! It has been a challenging last 4months on both the domestic and work side but I’m happy to report that all for now is ok – no one has passed away to the next life, or been sentenced to serve at her majesty’s residence or the few remaining mental assylums that are still open
Either way, I would like to thank all of our guest bloggers who have been absolutely wonderful in sharing with us experiences of their journey as they happened – sometimes literally which is a feat in its entirety given the challenges in parts of the world they have been reporting from. For Admin guests bloggers must have also been a welcome relief on one level as I kept letting her down on so many occasions – she has probably mastered the art of climbing walls!
Resident fellow bloggers – keep your articles coming please as and when. I do truly appreciate and understand how challenging sometimes sustaining a communal blog such as this can be as the temptation to come across as perfect at times hinders input. This is OK – it’s not a competition we come on here for but rather an insight on what each of us are about and what interests, annoys or just plain bores us! At least this is my take – Admin can correct me on this…
At times I’m lost as to the reason why Admin ever felt the need to include me in this blogging group or why she puts up with me to this date! I am useless with finances and running a business is my idea of hell on earth! You’ve certainly done your level best to get me on board but boy, can’t teach an old dog new tricks eh!
We all have different styles of writing and different interest that it is quite challenging to map it all together and see the finished “pie” as it were. Which is why it is so difficult for me to say what blog interested me most because it would not do justice to all the work put in by all of us fellow bloggers. When really pushed I’d have to say it was the article on throw eba not chairs! Simply for the mixture of nostalgia and present silly issues that see grown-ups scram for power in the present day.
We are blessed with bloggers that are at their peak in their business world and we look forward to more blogs on their business orientated aspect but also financial tips on start-ups in layman’s terms. I have said already how challenged.
As a Diaspora person, I look forward to hearing if there are any programs/workshops they might be planning for youth in the Diaspora for example. For aspiring journalists, freelancing as well as established in their known niches – what are your resolutions for the coming months in 2011? Are you covering any storylines? Then we have political analysts and aspiring political voyeurs. The less said the better here…
There is hope for me though because the more I’ve stayed, the more I see a variety of other bloggers who are similarly predisposed – but thankfully not as scatty as I am. The blog has been at best a place of venting off steam to social issues as they happen and comparing them to what others across the board from me are handling what they too face.
As a result, I have been able at times to take a different tact to in addressing or perceiving an issue.
A very big thank you to all those that have contributed to what has been posted in your helpful and insightful commentary feedback, I look forward to keeping with you all (fellow bloggers and guests inc.) in the coming months this 2011.
