International Women’s Day- 20 Inspirational African Women in the Diaspora

This video was brought to my attention yesterday by Sarah Arrow and was pleasantly surprised that our very own Freda aka Emang and I made it onto the list! I thought I would share it here on International Women’s Day

Really honoured to have been selected and be included alongside such amazing women.

But for me the real stars are the women on the ground who grapple with day to day challenges, face them with real gusto, create jobs for others, feed and cloth their families and I have featured some of those women over at Ethnic Supplies in a series of blog posts entitled 100 years of International Women’s day. to find out about these women do stop by and share your views

  1. Emang says:

Very honoured indeed, very honoured, and I wish Adipwe success in everything they are trying to achieve. It is truly wonderful to be able to look up to women from Africa and I hope it provides encouragement for other women looking for the same thing. I remember for many years I was in search of something similar, and I could not find anything, so this is well and truly an honour for me to even be up there too just for doing my job. I remember a wise woman say recently in Forbes women’s hour, do not focus too much on looking up (promotion) as you will lose where you step in, where you are, focus on the projects at hand, do a good job, excell in it, and you will well. That very woman did this in her career, she is now the CEO of a $30 billion tyre company in Europe.
