In this regard a couple of patriots came together with a campaign in the beginning of February to consolidate support for execution of a patriotic act that would be coordinated country wide simultaneously on the 28th of February 2011.
Singing the national anthem was chosen as the ideal act to show unity and patriotism. Most Citizens save for those in the armed forces or in schools that recited the anthem every morning could not remember the last time they sang the national anthem. This was indeed a sad affair since a nations anthem is the cornerstone of a republics identity, ideals and aspirations. It was warmly embraced by all who were informed/heard of it. The awareness of the campaign was spread exclusively via social media especially twitter and facebook where it went viral and was on the news a few days before D-day.
Come the 28th of February, the national anthem was sung at various venues countrywide at exactly 1pm. It is useful to note that the organizers of the event made sure that there was no political connotation or association to the event and no media house backing it hence the insistence on using social media to gather support and organize it. This rid the campaign of any undue influence and manipulation.
