Minda Magero’s love for words early on matured into a passion for writing poetry and essays, and all her writing has been deeply informed by her experiences living, studying, and working in Kenya, Germany, and the United States. She counts among her literary influences both African writers such as Marjorie Oludhe-MacGoye, Okot P’bitek, and Grace Ogot, and American ones such as Susan Lenzkes. She likes to think that her writing is helping to make a difference in the world, especially in restoring Africa’s identity and dignity.
