AFRICA. Who knew how much my life would change having met you? Therefore, in honor of the abundant growth and personal development I have received under your guidance, I am dedicating my first blog submission to you.
Now, in all fairness to those expecting to hear my opinion(s) or point of view relative to the issues that certainly need to be addressed and discussed about Africa’s growing concerns and accomplishments, do not be dismayed. They will come. However, my primarily contribution will always be to “show” you rather than to “tell” you what it is that I find so fabulous about Africa in my estimation and how I became a legitimate daughter of this nation. Albeit, that I was born elsewhere.
It is said that a “picture speaks a thousand words”. Well, I have included eight for your perusal. “EYE SPEAK PHOTOSTORIES” is a collection of visual images that communicate or vocalize only that which the spirit speaks to the heart. Each piece is a living work of art. I coined this particular collection: VALIDATION because Africa taught me that in the midst of imperfection there is perfection and I have been true to the voice I hear within and believe that have demonstrated this in my work. In short, this collection is a testimony to what God can do. Never having been trained as a photographer certainly supports the truth that when God has a purpose for you He is sure to perform it. He is the One who qualifies the unqualified.
AFRICA IS A MIRROR, is a visible condition of the heart of mankind. “Africa is a mirror that God uses to show us our humanity and far we have fallen away from Him”.
STAND THEREFORE. Illustrates a position/condition in which one cannot nor should be moved.
A SPIRIT-FILLED WALK, these shoes speaks about the souls of children taken much too early from disease, poverty, and war who now walk on streets paved with gold.
ADVICE, Honor God in your youth before you grow old and no longer enjoy living. Your limbs will tremble with age, and your strong legs will grow weak. There is a season for everything”.
NOT ZIPPORAH, gives recognition to faceless women of old who were nameless and forgotten.

DAUGHTERS OF ZELOPHEHAD, represent young woman who stood up for change against all odds to receive what rightfully belong to them.
DAVID THE SHEPHERD, Maasai Shepherder. The original cowboy.
THE DOOR, “I’d rather be a doorkeeper in the house of the Lord than live the good life in the home of the wicked”.

Welcome to Africa On the blog April and thank you for sharing your views on Africa. It is always for me to learn about Africa from “visitors” to Africa. Sadly some visitors only report that which is negative about the continent and some are reluctant to admit that they can learn from folk in Africa
What moving and thought-provoking “photostories”, April. Thank you for sharing them
Thank you for this April, I enjoyed reading it. I have such a great love of Africa and its people, it runs so deeply that sometimes it is difficult to express it verbally. The picture you posted of the tree is my favourite. It reminds me of the northern parts of the eastern cape where it leads into the free state where the roads hug the Lesotho borders. Many times I have travelled such roads all over this beautiful continent.
I love this art!
April, I’m glad that the Lord has given you a gift (photojournaling) to share with mankind. I believe that your missionary endeavors are eye opening, vicarious experiences that open our eyes to the true intent of good will among all of humanity. “Qualifying the Unqualified”, represents to me, the qualification of the status quo of the wicked who promote certification in today’s society. Yet, the Lord qualifies through His anointing of common folk. It is only by the grace of God that you are able to promote His word and provide a glimps of reality. If you don’t mind me saying so, you are qualified…Thanks
